The ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), has commenced screening of presidential aspirants on its platform.

According to reports, a former national chairman of the Party, John Oyegun, is in charge of the screening exercise.
About 30 people were said to have purchased the APC presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest form, but only 23 would be screened at the ongoing exercise.
The individuals to be screened at the exercise are: Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; Yemi Osinbajo; Former Minister of State Education; Chukwuemeja Uwaezuoke Nwajiuba; Governor of Jigawa State, Badaru Abubakar; Senator Robert A. Boroffice; Barr. Uju Ken-Ohanenye (the only female aspirant); Nicholas Felix; Ebonyi State governor; Nweze David Umahi; former Senate President, and Ken Nnamani; Gbolahan B. Bakare.

Others are: former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun; former Lagos State governor, Ahmed Bola Tinubu; Ahmad Rufa’i Sani; former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi; former Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, and former governor of Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The rest are; Governor Yahaya Bello, of Kogi State; Tein Jack-Rich; former Minister of Science and Technology, Christopher Onu; Senate President; Ahmad Lawan; Cross-Rivers State governor, Ben Ayade, and Ikeobasi Mokelu.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, who had earlier been rumoured to have joined the ruling party and submitted the forms is not on the list.
Also, Akinwumi Adesina, President of African Development Bank, (AfDB), is not on the list despite being reported to have submitted forms purchased for him by some groups of farmers.
